Who is Vanessa Redgrave?
The British actress and activist Vanessa Redgrave CBE was born on 30 January 1937.
Tennessee Williams proclaimed the “Greatest Actress of our Time,” Redgrave was the winner of the Triple Crown of the Acting, inaugurated to the Hall of Fame of the American Theater, and won the BAFTA Fellowship.
Redgrave became a major actor in 1961 in Shakespeare comedy As You Like It with Royal Shakespeare Company, having performed in more than 35 productions in London and on Broadway since then, winning the 1984 Olivier Award for Best Actress in the Revival of The Aspern Papers, the 2003 Tony Award for Best Actress in Long Day’s Night Journey Revival.
She was also nominated for Miss Daisy’s Year of Creative Thought and Cycling. On screen she appeared in several films and is six-times nominated for the Oscar, winning the Julia (1977) title role in the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Many cases included: Morgan: an Approachable Recovery Case (1966), Isadora (1968), Mary, King of Scots (1971), The Bostonians (1984) and Howards End (1992).
