Who is Travis Scott?

Jacques Berman Webster II (born April 30, 1991) is an American rapper, musician, songwriter and record producer, professionally known as Travis Scott (formerly stylized as Travi$ Scott).

The musical style of Scott was described as a combination of the conventional hip hop, lo-fi and ambient. Scott signed the first major-label contract with Epic Records in 2012.

In November of the same year, as part of its production arm Very GOOD Beats, Scott signed a contract with Kanye West’s GOOD Music. Scott signed a record contract in April 2013 with the Grand Hustle label of T.I.

In 2013 Scott’s first full-length album, the mixtape Owl Pharaoh, was released on its own.It was followed in August 2014, by a second mixtape, Days Before Rodeo.

His debut studio album, Rodeo (2015), was driven by “Antidote,” a hit single His second album, Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight (2016) was his first Billboard 200 number one album.

Scott released a collaboration album with Quavo the following year named Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho, under the group name Huncho Jack. His widely awaited Astroworld was released to widespread critical acclaim in 2018 and produced his first number one Billboard Hot 100 single, “Sicko Mode.”

The compilation album JackBoys was released in late 2019 by Scott’s record label Cactus Jack Records, and was the first number one album on the 2020 Billboard 200.

By 2020 Scott sold more than 45 million certified albums in the United States alone. He was nominated for six Grammy Awards and received a Billboard Music Award.
