Spread the love

Space Quotes:

Man is an artifact designed for space travel. He is not designed to remain in his present biologic state any more than a tadpole is designed to remain a tadpole.

William S. Burroughs

After one look at this planet any visitor from outer space would say ‘I want to see the manager.’

William S. Burroughs

The stars, that nature hung in heaven, and filled their lamps with everlasting oil, give due light to the misled and lonely traveller.

John Milton

We travel together, passengers on a little spaceship, dependent on its vulnerable reserves of air and soil, all committed, for our safety, to its security and peace. Preserved from annihilation only by the care, the work and the love we give our fragile craft.

Adlai Stevenson I

To try to really land a spacecraft really on another world is really difficult, and if we lose that ability, it’s going to be heartbreaking.

Bill Nye

There is good evidence that Venus once had liquid water and a much thinner atmosphere, similar to Earth billions of years ago. But today the surface of Venus is dry as a bone, hot enough to melt lead, there are clouds of sulfuric acid that reach a hundred miles high and the air is so thick it’s like being 900 meters deep in the ocean.

Bill Nye

In spite of the opinions of certain narrow-minded people, who would shut up the human race upon this globe, as within some magic circle it must never outstep, we shall one day travel to the moon, the planets, and the stars, with the same facility, rapidity, and certainty as we now make the voyage from Liverpool to New York!

Jules Verne

The earth together with its surrounding waters must in fact have such a shape as its shadow reveals, for it eclipses the moon with the arc of a perfect circle.

Nicolaus Copernicus

For the wise man looks into space and he knows there is no limited dimensions.

Zhuangzi

What was most significant about the lunar voyage was not that men set foot on the moon but that they set eye on the earth.

Norman Cousins

You cannot look up at the night sky on the Planet Earth and not wonder what it’s like to be up there amongst the stars. And I always look up at the moon and see it as the single most romantic place within the cosmos.

Tom Hanks

The most important thing about Spaceship Earth – an instruction book didn’t come with it.

R. Buckminster Fuller

The rockets and the satellites, spaceships that we’re creating now, we’re pollinating the universe.

Neil Young

Space is to place as eternity is to time.

Joseph Joubert

I’ve been lucky enough to fly to space twice.

Chris Hadfield

The world, when you look at it, it just can’t be random. I mean, it’s so different than the vast emptiness that is everything else, and even all the other planets we’ve seen, at least in our solar system, none of them even remotely resemble the precious life-giving nature of our own planet.

Chris Hadfield

There are no wishy-washy astronauts. You don’t get up there by being uncaring and blase. And whatever gave you the sense of tenacity and purpose to get that far in life is absolutely reaffirmed and deepened by the experience itself.

Chris Hadfield

As an astronaut, especially during launch, half of the risk of a six-month flight is in the first nine minutes.

Chris Hadfield

Perhaps when distant people on other planets pick up some wavelength of ours all they hear is a continuous scream.

Iris Murdoch

I see nothing in space as promising as the view from a Ferris wheel.

E. B. White

When you’re getting ready to launch into space, you’re sitting on a big explosion waiting to happen.

Sally Ride

So most astronauts getting ready to lift off are excited and very anxious and worried about that explosion – because if something goes wrong in the first seconds of launch, there’s not very much you can do.

Sally Ride

The stars don’t look bigger, but they do look brighter.

Sally Ride

Rocket science is tough, and rockets have a way of failing.

Sally Ride

One thing I probably share with everyone else in the astronaut office is composure.

Sally Ride

What is the use of a house if you haven’t got a tolerable planet to put it on?

Henry David Thoreau

Land on Mars, a round-trip ticket – half a million dollars. It can be done.

Elon Musk

In order for us to have a future that’s exciting and inspiring, it has to be one where we’re a space-bearing civilization.

Elon Musk

I would like to die on Mars. Just not on impact.

Elon Musk

I think we are at the dawn of a new era in commercial space exploration.

Elon Musk

Space is big. You just won’t believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it’s a long way down the road to the drug store, but that’s just peanuts to space.

Douglas Adams

Ye stars! which are the poetry of heaven!

Lord Byron

There are thousands of asteroids whose orbit in the Solar System crosses that of Earth. And we have a little acronym for them – NEOs: near Earth objects. And our biggest goal is to try to catalogue them, so we know in advance if one is going to put us at risk.

Neil deGrasse Tyson

Space enthusiasts are the most susceptible demographic to delusion that I have ever seen.

Neil deGrasse Tyson

Do you realize that if you fall into a black hole, you will see the entire future of the Universe unfold in front of you in a matter of moments and you will emerge into another space-time created by the singularity of the black hole you just fell into?

Neil deGrasse Tyson

Philosophically, the universe has really never made things in ones. The Earth is special and everything else is different? No, we’ve got seven other planets. The sun? No, the sun is one of those dots in the night sky. The Milky Way? No, it’s one of a hundred billion galaxies. And the universe – maybe it’s countless other universes.

Neil deGrasse Tyson

The Universe is under no obligation to make sense to you.

Neil deGrasse Tyson

Oh, don’t let’s ask for the moon. We’ve already got the stars.

Bette Davis

What can we gain by sailing to the moon if we are not able to cross the abyss that separates us from ourselves? This is the most important of all voyages of discovery, and without it, all the rest are not only useless, but disastrous.

Thomas Merton

I won’t say that I’m an agnostic, since agnosticism maintains that one cannot know… but I’m not averse to the idea of some intelligence or some organizing force that set up the initial conditions of the universe in such a way that ultimately generated stars, planets and life.

B. F. Skinner

For NASA, space is still a high priority.

Dan Quayle

Modern science says: ‘The sun is the past, the earth is the present, the moon is the future.’ From an incandescent mass we have originated, and into a frozen mass we shall turn. Merciless is the law of nature, and rapidly and irresistibly we are drawn to our doom.

Nikola Tesla

The feeling is constantly growing on me that I had been the first to hear the greeting of one planet to another.

Nikola Tesla

Our passionate preoccupation with the sky, the stars, and a God somewhere in outer space is a homing impulse. We are drawn back to where we came from.

Eric Hoffer

Great industries are never made from single companies. There is room in space for a lot of winners.

Jeff Bezos

The moon is a friend for the lonesome to talk to.

Carl Sandburg

We will build new ships to carry man forward into the universe, to gain a new foothold on the moon and to prepare for new journeys to the worlds beyond our own.

George W. Bush

I’m never going to go to Mars, but I’ve helped inspire, thank goodness, the people who built the rockets and sent our photographic equipment off to Mars.

Ray Bradbury

Those are the same stars, and that is the same moon, that look down upon your brothers and sisters, and which they see as they look up to them, though they are ever so far away from us, and each other.

Sojourner Truth

Sometimes I think we’re alone in the universe, and sometimes I think we’re not. In either case the idea is quite staggering.

Arthur C. Clarke

Perhaps, as some wit remarked, the best proof that there is Intelligent Life in Outer Space is the fact it hasn’t come here. Well, it can’t hide forever – one day we will overhear it.

Arthur C. Clarke

There are no passengers on spaceship earth. We are all crew.

Marshall McLuhan

Trees go wandering forth in all directions with every wind, going and coming like ourselves, traveling with us around the sun two million miles a day, and through space heaven knows how fast and far!

John Muir

We are just an advanced breed of monkeys on a minor planet of a very average star. But we can understand the Universe. That makes us something very special.

Stephen Hawking

I think we’re going to the moon because it’s in the nature of the human being to face challenges. It’s by the nature of his deep inner soul… we’re required to do these things just as salmon swim upstream.

Neil Armstrong

Astronauts are very professional and when they’re preparing for launch, they prepare for it as the most serious endeavor of our lives.

Ellen Ochoa

I’ll tell you, being involved in human space flight, it is an emotional endeavor. I think it brings in the highest highs and the lowest lows.

Ellen Ochoa

People need to be made conscious of a very simple reality: we have no choice but to share this planet, this small blue sphere floating in the vast reaches of space, with all of our fellow ‘passengers.’

Daisaku Ikeda

To me, there is something superbly symbolic in the fact that an astronaut, sent up as assistant to a series of computers, found that he worked more accurately and more intelligently than they. Inside the capsule, man is still in charge.

Adlai Stevenson II

I grew up watching a lot of the coverage of the early U.S. space program, all the way back starting with Mercury and then through Gemini and Apollo and of course going to the moon as the main part of the Apollo program.

Linda M. Godwin

Everything has a natural explanation. The moon is not a god, but a great rock, and the sun a hot rock.

Anaxagoras

I’d love to go back to space, I don’t know any astronaut who doesn’t want to.

Helen Sharman

While we’ve taken seeds into space, and astronauts on the International Space Station have eaten lettuce they’ve grown, we haven’t produced fruit in space, so we can’t pollinate something.

Helen Sharman

During launch, the outside of the rocket is covered in a protective fairing, so we couldn’t see outside, but as soon as that was jettisoned, my first view of the earth was over the Pacific Ocean, which was this wonderful deep blue, with clouds just over the top, and sunlight streaming in through the window.

Helen Sharman

There is a project that’s underway called the interplanetary Internet. It’s in operation between Earth and Mars. It’s operating on the International Space Station. It’s part of the spacecraft that’s in orbit around the Sun that’s rendezvoused with two planets.

Vint Cerf

NASA was going to pick a public school teacher to go into space, observe and make a journal about the space flight, and I am a teacher who always dreamed of going up into space.

Christa McAuliffe

If I can get some student interested in science, if I can show members of the general public what’s going on up there in the space program, then my job’s been done.

Christa McAuliffe

My childhood dreams were focused on being part of the effort to make humanity a multiplanetary species.

Peter Diamandis

Space is an inspirational concept that allows you to dream big.

Peter Diamandis

I don’t think the space station is innovative. Going to the moon was innovative because we had no idea how to do it.

Peter Diamandis

Mining asteroids will ultimately benefit humanity on and off the Earth in a multitude of ways.

Peter Diamandis

Empty space is a boiling, bubbling brew of virtual particles that pop in and out of existence in a time scale so short that you can’t even measure them.

Lawrence M. Krauss

A black hole really is an object with very rich structure, just like Earth has a rich structure of mountains, valleys, oceans, and so forth. Its warped space whirls around the central singularity like air in a tornado.

Kip Thorne

There is just one thing I can promise you about the outer-space program – your tax-dollar will go further.

Wernher von Braun

I left Aerospace because I wanted to go build, and put spacecraft together.

Gwynne Shotwell

I feel that my father’s greatest legacy was the people he inspired to get involved in public service and their communities, to join the Peace Corps, to go into space. And really that generation transformed this country in civil rights, social justice, the economy and everything.

Caroline Kennedy

I do believe there is life in outer space. Mathematically, there has to be, and if you believe as I do that there is a creator of the universe, then how can we be so arrogant to believe he created life here and nowhere else?

Gene Cernan

Am I willing to go to Mars? Yes, but I’m not willing to spend nine months getting there, then wait 18 more months until the planets align to come home.

Gene Cernan

Astronauts have been stuck in low-Earth orbit, boldly going nowhere. American attempts to kick-start a new phase of lunar exploration have stalled amid the realisation that NASA’s budget is too small for the job.

Paul Davies

Once you’ve been in space, you appreciate how small and fragile the Earth is.

Valentina Tereshkova

On Earth, men and women are taking the same risks. Why shouldn’t we be taking the same risks in space?

Valentina Tereshkova

What’s odd about the selfie stick is that while it might faintly improve the photo you’ll post on Facebook, it definitely makes you seem like a shallow, awful clown to any bystanders in the humdrum physical space you’re posing in.

Charlie Brooker

Most of the time, it’s pretending I’m somebody else to get into a different head space. A lot of times, it’s just, ‘Who do I want to be onstage tonight? Is it going to be Marc Bolan, or is it going to be Grace Jones, or Roy Orbison?’

Borns

When you’re you long enough, you get to this space where people start respecting you.

JPEGMAFIA

I’m realizing now that I was always really curious about inviting people into a space and sharing information that way. But I didn’t have any context for it. It was just fun because I was homeschooled and lonely and bored, and I’d do things to get people to come over.

Esperanza Spalding

Two Klansmen were working for NORAD monitoring U.S. air space for missile attacks. I contacted the Pentagon, and the next day, they were reassigned to a posting near the North Pole.

Ron Stallworth

What I am trying to do is create a space for people to explore what they want to be, as opposed to fit into a label that they have been given.

Baron Vaughn

We are just party people. We always had a drink in the evening with the music on and space to dance. It was that kind of a family.

Anne Reid

The Lamb’s Club is going to be a luxury bar and grill; we’re not doing an overly fancy restaurant. We wanted to make a space that people will come to every day, almost like a very high-end bistro.

Geoffrey Zakarian

We were all working for 400 dollars a week at the Public Theater and sharing a space downstairs together, so we grew to love each other. That dynamic for me as an original company member is special to me.

Anthony Ramos

Be intentional with your space. Don’t be afraid to step on a limb and design your home the way you love it.

Joanna Gaines

At this point we’ve answered about every question you could possibly imagine about Deep Space Nine, so we do this thing called Theatrical Jazz, where we do a show of bits and pieces of things from plays and literature, poetry… stuff that we like. It’s fun.

Rene Auberjonois

When time and space and change converge, we find place. We arrive in Place when we resolve things. Place is peace of mind and understanding. Place is knowledge of self. Place is resolution.

Abdullah Ibrahim

It is far better to grasp the universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring.

Carl Sagan

If we drive down the cost of transportation in space, we can do great things.

Elon Musk

When a place gets crowded enough to require ID’s, social collapse is not far away. It is time to go elsewhere. The best thing about space travel is that it made it possible to go elsewhere.

Robert A. Heinlein

Space exploration is a force of nature unto itself that no other force in society can rival.

Neil deGrasse Tyson

If the Earth gets hit by an asteroid, it’s game over. It’s control-alt-delete for civilization.

Bill Nye

I am sorry to say that there is too much point to the wisecrack that life is extinct on other planets because their scientists were more advanced than ours.

John F. Kennedy

America has tossed its cap over the wall of space.

John F. Kennedy

Why should man’s first flight to the moon be a matter of national competition? Why should the United States and the Soviet Union, in preparing for such expeditions, become involved in immense duplications of research, construction and expenditure?

John F. Kennedy

If you are in a spaceship that is traveling at the speed of light, and you turn on the headlights, does anything happen?

Steven Wright

I don’t think the human race will survive the next thousand years, unless we spread into space.

Stephen Hawking

Time travel used to be thought of as just science fiction, but Einstein’s general theory of relativity allows for the possibility that we could warp space-time so much that you could go off in a rocket and return before you set out.

Stephen Hawking

That’s one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.

Neil Armstrong

Houston, Tranquillity Base here. The Eagle has landed.

Neil Armstrong

It suddenly struck me that that tiny pea, pretty and blue, was the Earth. I put up my thumb and shut one eye, and my thumb blotted out the planet Earth. I didn’t feel like a giant. I felt very, very small.

Neil Armstrong

The important achievement of Apollo was demonstrating that humanity is not forever chained to this planet and our visions go rather further than that and our opportunities are unlimited.

Neil Armstrong

Who are we? We find that we live on an insignificant planet of a humdrum star lost in a galaxy tucked away in some forgotten corner of a universe in which there are far more galaxies than people.

Carl Sagan

The eternal silence of these infinite spaces frightens me.

Blaise Pascal

The motions of the comets are exceedingly regular, and they observe the same laws as the motions of the planets, but they differ from the motions of vortices in every particular and are often contrary to them.

Isaac Newton

You don’t look at the big problem all together, because I think it’s a little intimidating. So you just take it one day at a time, meet the people who are going to meet with you, for you, and who you’re going to work for, and really try to do the best job that you can. That’s all teamwork, and that’s what space travel is about.

Sunita Williams

You have a lot of things to do when you’re out on a space walk, and that sort of overwhelms your mind.

Sunita Williams

In space, if you push, you are usually going somewhere, so staying on the treadmill was a challenge at first, even with the harness.

Sunita Williams

One thing to say about doing maintenance in space – it is difficult because the parts and pieces float away. You end up using a lot of tape and Velcro to make sure things stay put.

Sunita Williams

We certainly would not be here, living and working on the International Space Station without the commitment and dedication of all the folks who worked the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo Programs as well as the Russian Space Program.

Sunita Williams

When I went to Test Pilot School, that’s when we came to Johnson Space Center. And I ended up seeing John Young and listening to him talk and getting a positive influence from him.

Sunita Williams

I don’t feel like a hero – just another person involved in the space business. I’m hoping to encourage young folks to become explorers.

Sunita Williams

The space walks were amazing with the incredible views.

Sunita Williams

Space felt like home.

Sunita Williams

Sometimes siblings can get in each other’s space.

Gisele Bundchen

Social media has colonized what was once a sacred space occupied by emptiness: the space reserved for thought and creativity.

Mahershala Ali

At a certain point in my career, I was probably having a difficult time ‘holding space.’ So you get a character that has to be commanding in order for him to resonate and make sense.

Mahershala Ali

There are instances where you’re in a space with someone who has been extraordinarily successful, and they don’t necessarily connect with you as another person. You can be a prop for them to deliver their stuff, and you’re just another element in the scene.

Mahershala Ali

There are so many women who contributed in a very real way in pushing for the space program during the time in which there was a lot of competition to get into space first, and to know that there were African-American women who were integral in that success is pretty phenomenal.

Mahershala Ali

You can’t watch ‘Daredevil’ or ‘Jessica Jones’ or the Marvel films and not be aware that the villain has to be awesome. I’ve always wanted to have more space. And the scope, morally, is more broad for the villain than the hero.

Mahershala Ali

I love Michelle Williams. I think she’s extraordinary. I was such a fan of ‘Blue Valentine,’ and I heard stories about how Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams worked on that. They lived together for a period of time as rehearsal. From nine in the morning to five at night, living in a space together. The work is really awe-inspiring.

Mahershala Ali

My father, Phillip Gilmore, was very talented. He was getting seriously into dancing. He was on ‘Soul Train’ and won $2,500. But the Bay Area was too small for him. I don’t think he had the space to do what he needed to do.

Mahershala Ali

When you do something in the moment, it may just be for that stage, that audience, that head space that you’re in.

Richard Lewis

The real message of the Dance opens up the vistas of life to all who have the urge to express beauty with no other instrument than their own bodies, with no apparatus and no dependence on anything other than space.

Ruth St. Denis

Make space in your life, space for health and happiness.

Kris Carr

I need space between me and the audience – and the more space the better.

Ray LaMontagne

Speaking is what most people work on. They forget the thinking and the breathing and instead try to occupy space with sound.

Margaret Heffernan

Indeed – judicious, consistent parenting is a dream of mine. No judgements, learning space and listening carefully are my goals.

Emma Thompson

I mean, movies in general tend to sort of portray time, space and identity as these very solid things. Time moves forward. Space is what it is. You are you, and you’re always you.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt

Sometimes, the hate that I endure is not necessarily about me but about the space I’m in.

DeRay Mckesson

As a gay black man, it’s important to me to show up – that I’m able to show up as my whole self, in every space that I’m in, because that’s how I’m able to be the most true to who I am.

DeRay Mckesson

The first time I was ever impressed with Patagonia as a brand was when they released the ‘Don’t Buy This Jacket’ campaign. That campaign highlighted their understanding of their role in a larger environmental justice space.

DeRay Mckesson

From the first time I held an iPhone, the space has evolved quickly, and people have shifted from reading content on their desktops to smartphones and iPads, even long-form stuff.

Matt Mullenweg

In 1975, I was called to active duty in the Air Force, studying U.S. space launches that used nuclear power. I felt it was a big deal to be involved in such an important project – we were providing technical support for launch recommendations that ultimately went to the president.

Lonnie Johnson

I wound up getting offered a job at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory where I invented a power supply mechanism for the Galileo space craft which was in orbit around Jupiter until 2003.

Lonnie Johnson

Due to the failure of politics, which has become a process of middle-management, art has become one of the last open spaces to question core beliefs and to design a viable future. Art becomes an open space where we can ask fundamental questions about ourselves.

Antony Gormley

Cities have become places where we are controlled, by CCTV and other means, in the same way as machines are controlled. My works provide an imaginative space in which this can be challenged. It’s like opening a window in a closed room.

Antony Gormley

I believe in the city as a natural human environment, but we must humanize it. It’s art that will re-define public space in the 21st Century. We can make our cities diverse, inspirational places by putting art, dance and performance in all its forms into the matrix of street life.

Antony Gormley

I used to think that the great thing about sculpture was that, like Stonehenge, it was something that stood against time in an adamantine way, and was an absolute mass in space. Now I try to use the language of architecture to redescribe the body as a place.

Antony Gormley

Trees bear fruits only to be eaten by others; the fields grown grains, but they are consumed by the world. Cows give milk, but she doesn’t drink it herself – that is left to others. Clouds send rain only to quench the parched earth. In such giving, there is little space for selfishness.

Munshi Premchand

All of us who are flying on international space stations speak some Russian and speak some English. Both the languages are needed to fly in a Russian spacecraft and communicate with your colleagues.

Sunita Williams

My first mission was six and a half months. We weren’t exactly sure how long it was going to be because I went up and back on the space shuttle, which was dependent on weather for launch and landing.

Sunita Williams

In space, you need to stay as ‘usual’ as possible. On the space station, I would brush my hair every day.

Sunita Williams

There is nothing like home anywhere. There’s no place like home, even in space.

Sunita Williams

We try to keep it a normal day while we’re up in space. You know, you don’t want to change your time cycle too much, so we just keep it normal. And so, about 5 or 6 o’clock at night, after we finish working, we knock it off by having prerecorded shows that we watch sometimes through the computer while we’re eating dinner.

Sunita Williams

The International Space Station is a great place to live for a year.

Sunita Williams

When you look at the darkest areas in space, you feel that there’s something out there that we don’t know about.

Sunita Williams

The space program is a peaceful project. The next door is opening. We have to go farther into space. But, before that, we need to develop far more improved nutrition and more advanced spacecraft.

Sunita Williams

You don’t see any borders between countries from space. That’s man-made, and one experiences it only when you return to Earth.

Sunita Williams

My space expedition has changed my perspective towards people. Looking down at the Earth, we could not see borders or people with different nationalities. It was then that realisation dawned on us that all of us are a group of human beings and citizens of the universe.

Sunita Williams

In my space journey, I felt vulnerable because we did not have anyone with medical background. When we make that big trip to Mars, we would need a doctor on board.

Sunita Williams

It’s – I mean, the Olympics, what is it? It’s an international competition to foster friendship and – and competition across – across the planet, and I think that’s exactly what the International Space Station is.

Sunita Williams

The Space Station is primarily made of aluminum. The smell is really weird and sort of like burning metal. It is absolutely distinct and totally repeatable.

Sunita Williams

Space is absolutely a 3-D world in comparison to our 2-D world on Earth.

Sunita Williams

The feel of space… Some folks have asked what it is like to work out in space. Yes, you can work upside down, right side up, sideways – anyway you want to to make it convenient.

Sunita Williams

What is true and what most folks think is that there is no sound in space. From almost all recollections, I would agree.

Sunita Williams

Gravity on Earth provides a force that keeps our bones and muscles working. In the microgravity of space, our bones and muscles are not taxed, so they begin to atrophy.

Sunita Williams

What is Space?

Space is the boundless, three-dimensional extent of relative position and direction of objects and events. Physical space is mostly conceived in three linear dimensions, though it is commonly regarded by modern physicists as part of a boundless four-dimensional continuum known as spacetime.

The definition of space for an interpretation of the physical universe is considered of fundamental importance. However, disagreement between philosophers continues over whether it is an entity itself, a relationship between entities, or part of a conceptual framework.

Debates on the origin, purpose and mode of life of space date back to antiquity; namely, treatises such as Plato’s Timaeus or Socrates in his reflections on what the Greeks called khôra (i.e. “space”), or Aristotle’s Physics (Book IV, Delta) in the description of topos (i.e. place), or in the later “geometric conception of position” as “space qua extension” in the Debate.

In the Renaissance many of these classical philosophical questions were discussed and then reformulated in the 17th century, particularly during the early development of classical mechanics.

In the opinion of Isaac Newton, space was absolute in the sense that it existed indefinitely and regardless of whether there was any matter in space Other natural philosophers, especially Gottfried Leibniz, also thought that space was in fact a set of connections between objects, provided by their distance and direction from each other.

In the 18th century, in his essay Towards a Modern Theory of Perception, the philosopher and theologian George Berkeley attempted to refute the ‘visibility of spatial depth.’

Metaphysicist Immanuel Kant subsequently said that the concepts of space and time are not empirical ones derived from outside world experiences, they are elements of an already given systemic framework that human beings possess and use to structure all experiences.

In his Critique of Pure Reason Kant referred to the perception of “space” as a subjective “pure a priori type of intuition.”

Mathematicians started to explore non-Euclidean geometries in the 19th and 20th centuries, where space is viewed as curved rather than square. The space surrounding gravitational fields deviates from Euclidean space according to Albert Einstein’s theory of general relativity.

Experimental general relativity experiments have verified that non-Euclidean geometries are providing a better model for space shaping.
