What is Nursery?

The nursery is a location where the plants reproduce and mature to the appropriate level.

These include retail nurseries that market to the general public, wholesale nurseries that market exclusively to companies such as other nurseries and industrial gardeners, and private nurseries that serve the needs of corporations or private properties.

Nurseries can supply plants for planting, agriculture , forestry and conservation biology. Many of them specialize in one step of the process: development, growth or retail sale; or in one form of plant: e.g. ground cover, shade or rock garden plants.

Others grow bulk supplies, whether seedlings or grafted, of specific varieties for uses such as fruit trees for orchards or woodland trees.

Others generate abundant, spring-ready supplies for export to colder regions where the spread may not have begun too early, or to regions where abundant pests hinder productive growth early in the season.
