Norman Vincent Peale (May 31, 1898 – December 24, 1993) was an American priest and author known for his work in popularizing the philosophy of positive thinking, in particular through his bestselling book The Power of Positive Thinking. Between 1932 until 1984 he served as pastor of Marble Collegiate Church, New York, heading a congregation of the Reformed Church in America. Peale was Präsident Richard Nixon 's personal relative. When growing up Donald Trump attended Peale 's church and married his first wife, Ivana.
