Hippocrates Quotes About Food, Health, Diseases

Hippocrates (c. 460 โ€“ c. 370 BC), also recognized as Hippocrates II, was an Era of Pericles (Classical Greece) Greek physician, considered to be one of the most outstanding figures in medicine history. In recognition of his lasting contributions to the profession as the founder of the Hippocratic School of Medicine, he is sometimes referred to as the "Father of Medicine." This scholarly school revolutionized Ancient Greek medicine, defining it as a separate discipline from other fields generally connected with it (theurgy and philosophy), thus defining medicine as a profession. However, the accomplishments of the Corpus authors, Hippocratic medicine practitioners and the acts of Hippocrates himself have often been conflated; thus very little is understood about what Hippocrates actually thought, read, and did. Hippocrates is widely known as the ancient physician's paragon and credited with coining the Hippocratic Oath which is still important and still in use. He is also credited with significantly advancing the systematic study of clinical medicine, summing up previous school medical experience, and prescribing procedures for physicians through the Hippocratic Corpus and other plays.
