Who is Groucho Marx ?

Julius Henry “Groucho” Marx was an American comedian , actor, writer, stage, film , radio and television star (2 October 1890-19 August 1977). A master of quick talk, he ‘s widely considered one of the best comedians in America.

He made 13 feature films as a team with the Marx Brothers, his siblings of which he was the third-born. He also had a strong solo career, mainly on radio and television, especially as the game show host You Bet Your Life.

His distinctive look, carried over from his vaudeville days, featured features such as an awkward stooped stance, spectacles, cigar, a thick greasepaint moustache and eyebrows.

Such exaggerated features contributed to the development of one of the most recognizable and omnipresent novelty disguises, known as Groucho glasses: a one-piece mask consisting of horn-rimmed lenses, a large plastic nose, bushy eyebrows and mustache.
