The American artist and film directress and production pioneer of the visual art movement known as Pop Art, was Andy Warhol, born of Andrew Warhola, from 6 August 1928 to 22 February 1987. His work examines the relationships that thrived in the 1960s between the culture of art, advertisement and celebration and cover a wide range of media, including paintings, silkscreening, photography, films and sculpture. Among his most well-known pieces include Campbell's Sup Cans (1962) and Marilyn Diptych (1962), Chelsea Girls (1966) and the Bursting Plastic Inevitable (1966–67) multimedia events.
